I quite enjoy your series about Bannog, Ariciel, and the rest. One thing bothers me, though. I’m assuming that in the first tale, Joran, Ramoc, and the Gray Cat are from some other fandom, but I have not been able to figure out which. Could you tell me?

You are correct. Ramoc Villtin and Joran Westala are the heroes of the Tale of Villtin and Westala (and I really should reference them somewhere, but my stories have moved recently, leaving that bit of info behind). That story, written collectively by Örjan Westin and Marco Villalta*, happened spontaneously on the newsgroup alt.fan.pratchett. It’s the thing that convinced me to give this creative writing thing a go, so I thought I’d give them a nod. Originally, I only intended them to sit in the inn, eating copious amounts of food, as is their wont, and listen and comment on Bannog’s story. And then the buggers refused to leave and started interfering in major plot points.

I heartily recommend the Tale of Westala and Villtin. It’s packed with little gems of knowledge. If you happen to know people who post to alt.fan.pratchett, you may recognise a select few. Including my raid leader and his wife, and more guildies of Azeroth Buccaneers.
